Annual Plan 2026–27 – Brief Report

Productive Sector

The plan gives considerable attention to the agricultural sector. It includes projects such as agricultural product marketing fairs, distribution of irrigation pumps to farmers, distribution of organic manure, distribution of fruit tree saplings, and provision of cattle feed to farmers. Projects providing financial assistance to farmers and self-employed women have also been included. A total of ₹94.38 lakh has been allocated to the productive sector.

Service Sector

The service sector receives the largest share of the plan allocation. Priority has been given to housing, welfare of SC/ST communities, renovation of Anganwadi centres, child nutrition, scholarships for children with disabilities, procurement of medicines for healthcare institutions, palliative care, and various health services. The total allocation for the service sector is ₹3.49 crore.

Infrastructure Sector

A substantial amount has been earmarked for infrastructure development activities such as roads, drainage systems, public spaces, school and Anganwadi infrastructure, street lighting, and drinking water facilities. Several projects relating to the construction and improvement of roads in different wards have also been included. The allocation recorded for the infrastructure sector is ₹2.11 crore.

Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Communities

For the Scheduled Caste community, projects relating to housing renovation, scholarships for students, and infrastructure development have been included. For the Scheduled Tribe community, projects including housing assistance and distribution of drinking water tanks have been recorded. An amount of ₹14.96 lakh has been allocated for the SC sector and ₹63,400 for the ST sector.

Overall Assessment

An examination of the Annual Plan 2026–27 indicates that priority has been given to the service sector and infrastructure development. At the same time, special attention has been given to strengthening the agricultural sector and promoting the welfare of women, children, persons with disabilities, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.

Through projects with a total outlay of approximately ₹6.71 crore, Mariyapuram Grama Panchayat has adopted a comprehensive development approach in its Annual Plan 2026–27, aiming to achieve balanced development encompassing infrastructure development, social welfare, and growth in the agricultural and productive sectors.
